HCFM - Head Coach Frank Martin

 Dear Coach,

I know it’s probably a long shot that you’re reading my blog...as I am not that famous in the blogosphere. However, I wanted to write a small note extending my gratitude for a wonderful basketball season. Basketball at K-State was brought back to life because of you. Aside from my own graduation and a lot of fun times that I had during my time at K-State this season re-engaged my love for the university. I think it did for a lot of Wildcat fans. I hope that this year is a stepping stone for the years to come. I put together a few bullet points for you to work on this off season.

1) Find a new transition player like Clemente. Although I think Jacob Pullen is the man…he is not your point guard and transition player. He is your shooting guard…let’s keep it that way.

2) Wally Judge – this guy has a tremendous future at K-State. Do you think the university can buy him some protein powder and pack on like 20 lbs this summer? He can use it.

3) Jamar- have him review tape from games in which he picked up 4 fouls and explain to him that they are IN FACT FOULS. He seems to think that he is the man and that hacking players is part of the game.

4) Really evaluate your starting 5. They set the tempo of the game. (avoid players like Colon...oh wait he's gone).

5) Full Court Press- work on it.

6) Zone Offense – work on it.

7) Learn to work the Refs. Take some pointers from Coach K or Coach Barnes they work the refs all the time. We could definitely use it as we typically get pretty crappy refs in the Big 12.

8) Recruit new players that love the game and are willing to play 4 years. I don’t think K-State is looking for another Beasley. We need players to grow our program...just like Clemente.

Okay- off my soapbox. Thanks for bringing life back to K-State! Octagon of Doom, Fear the Beard, HCFM.

Wildcat & CLEMENTE Love,

Anne
