Did You Know - Thursday

I love Vera Bradley. I just bought a new tote for 2 upcoming trips this summer. I cannot wait to use it. I am not sure why I love Vera. Maybe it is the way the colors are incorporated into the patterns, the creativity of the patterns or the multitude of pockets inside and out. Maybe it is because you can wash the bag to keep it clean unlike any other purse or bag?!?! If you don't have a Vera...I suggest you try one out this summer. They make great summer bags!

Did You Know - Thursday

So what if I keep a jar of Peanut Butter - Honey Roast in the drawer of my desk at work? I like to make toast for breakfast.

Next to the trusty jar is a great coffee replacment - the ultimate Diet Coke. I am not a huge pop drinker...but sometimes I cannot just pass up a good Diet Coke.

Happy Thursday All! The weekend cannot come soon enough! :)

I love Tulips.
The landscaping in the front yard has about 80 tulip bulbs.
They are early, mid and late bloom tulips.

Did You Know - Thursday

My favorite Food Network personality is the Barefoot Contessa (ina garten). I think it's funny that she has certain sayings like 'it is just fantastic' or when she refers to a specific ingredient as 'really good'. Like she is warning people to not even bother using crap ingredients. I particularly like when she cooks for her husband of 40 years. It is endearing how something like cooking a meal can mean so much to someone. But most of all, I love her recipes. They are fairly simple, to the point and uses a normal amount of ingredients. Last summer the boyfriend bought me Barefoot Contessa Back to Basics  which was my first BC cookbook. It is terrific and has wonderful recipes.

Here are a few of my favorites from Back to Basics-

Did You Know - Thursday

Did you know that I love the game of basketball? I started in the 4th grade and played through my senior year in high school. I would shoot baskets for hours in my backyard. I recently joined a new gym and I have started playing again. I hope to maybe get the courage to join a team and actually play a game.

Anyways enough about me playing basketball. Let’s get real...this is the season of basketball and MARCH MADNESS. One of my favorite times of year. Teams around the nation coming together for one of the greatest tournaments of all time. The upsets, emotions of the players and coaches, the bad referees, the game winning shots. I LOVE IT. It brings out the competitiveness in me. I could sit and watch all day and not even care which teams are playing. I love the game.

I filled out my bracket this morning. I have been putting it off so that I can hear the latest analysis of Sports Center. I saw today that Obama picked KSU to be in the Final Four. I guess that means I can say I like one thing about him...? And one of my favorites...Dick Vitale, picked KState in the Final Four as well. Unfortunately both of them have KSU losing to KU for the 4th time this year. But you know...I am a risk taker. I am going to say KSU will BEAT KU in this 4th game match up.

I found this quote in USA Today..."Unpredictability is what this year's March Madness will be all about! That's why, hoop fanatics, it will be absolutely awesome, baby, with a capital A!" - Dick Vitale.

HOOP IT UP. GO WILDCATS!

Did You Know- Thursday

I am starting this new little thing to kick my rear into gear in regards to blogging more frequently. So, every Thursday I am going to put a little diddy up here about me.  I am assuming some of my readers will already know it, but to those of you just getting to know me....may find it interesting, laughable, intriguing.

Please don't judge me, but I watch / DVR a lot of TV. I honestly do not know how I have time to sit on my rear and watch this much TV. I would say that some of my TV watching is done while I am standing washing dishes, making dinner, folding laundry, surfing the internet, playing withe pups, working out.  Typically in the summer and winter...there isn't anything on TV. This past winter I read about 6 books to kill the time.  And well, summer is coming up...so I guess yard work and being outdoors will take the reign on the TV watching.

Here are a few of my favorites.

Cougar Town
The Deep End (new this year and hilarious!)
LOST
Modern Family
Parenthood (i just DVR'd this week and I think I'm going to love it)
Greys
Private Practice
General Hospital on SoapNet
Project Runway
The View
Food Network (giada and barefoot contessa)
Yard Crashers (HGTV)
The Real Housewives (all cities)
Rachel Zoe Project
Kell on Earth ...(when i remember it is on)
The Hills/City
Brothers & Sisters
Desperate Housewives

This is just embarrassing.
