gardening in the dark.

this past friday night the boyfriend and i landscaped in the dark (1 lantern and 2 citronella candles). it was 930 pm when we started. earlier in the week the boyfriend prepared the area in which we were going to transplant some box-woods (took out the sod, and raked the soil). the plants were looking a bit overgrown in the front of the house and we decided that they would look better over on the side instead. they were $5 dollar, quart size box-woods purchased at lowe's 2 years ago...and now they are a great size and shape! so friday evening, the boyfriend put down the edging and dug a few holes for the plants. we got them situated in there...and came back on saturday morning and put down some river rock. it looks so much better. for some reason we could not get grass to grow there...after trying repeatedly to put down sod and extra seed.  we should no longer have that problem! cheers to landscaping in the dark!
