I have to say Manhattan has not disappointed me this year. I ran into 2 of my favorite K-State basketball players few weeks ago and luckily the best photographer was with me. I was smitten. We tend to poke fun at Irving's muscles on tv and let me tell you - they are just as big in person. T-Gip is super tall and funny! They were nice enough to take a picture with me. I am fairly certain I jumped up and down after and did a rather large arm pump. yeah - i am that cool.
And this past weekend made me a Twitter believer. I recently joined, thought it was a bunch of hoopla and really just read tweets for news updates. Oh and I follow vic and rachel's nightly conversations - pretty entertaining. I started following a few of my favorite celebrities... which is too many to talk about here. It is embarrassing. Anyways one of my faves is K-State's Eric Stonestreet of Modern Family. On Friday night the husband and I were following his tweets through Aggieville.
Saturday morning we arrived at BSFS and started tailgating. I secretly decided to tweet Eric. The tweet failed 3 times - thank you wireless telecom provider (aka - my employer). Then resend #4 finally went through. I figured there was no way he would really answer my tweet...until I started walking up the street to buy some gloves and I see his golf cart heading right at me. It was Eric. Yes - that is right. I tweeted him to join our tailgate and I almost missed it to buy stupid gloves!! I started jumping up and down and covering my mouth saying 'holy crap, no way - this is so cool'. People did not understand why I was jumping around because I had not told anyone that I tweeted him. Eric obviously asked me if I tweeted him and he shook my hand. So freaking cool. He asked for cup of coffee - which I remember someone running into the RV to get one in a matter of 9 seconds. I could not stop saying 'holy crap' - I think Vic's mom told me to stop! It was pretty funny! I just wish I would have chilled for 5 seconds and said 'Thank you for supporting K-State, we love your show and congrats on your most recent Emmy win". But no, I jumped around like a 15 year old girl seeing Justin Bieber. I am pretty sure he is going on our Christmas card too.
One other highlight was Willie! Our tailgate hosts requested that he stop by and pep up the crowd and meet a few of the kids at the tailgate. Obviously the husband and I had to get our picture taken! Thanks Nortons we love Willie - what a great surprise!!!!
